Jack White’s Third Man Records, which is trying to add some mystery and excitement to the music industry, offers a subscription service called The Vault. The service provides exclusive vinyl and web content. Anything The Vault sends out is considered pretty exclusive, and now these guys are releasing something really exclusive. In the next few weeks there will be alternate versions of The White Stripes’ debut 7″, Let’s Shake Hands, and its B-side, Look Me Over Closely. A press release calls this “the first time ever that the band has released any outtakes from any past recordings throughout their 10-year career.” If you are interested in getting in on The Vault’s mailing list, you have until October 22nd to sign up. To tantalize you and your lust for cool things sent in the mail, Platinum members’ latest mailing includes (among other swag) a double-LP live album from The Raconteurs and a The Dead Weather screen print. A regular membership is $7 a month, but the Platinum will run you $20. Only the Platinum gang get vinyl though.

Jack White Looks To Please Fans

Let’s find out!” So goes a Jack White blog post as he launches his latest fan friendly endeavor titled The Vault. The job juggling rock icon has strung together a Third Man Records subscription service, which for a $7/month fee, ‘Premium’ members can have access to photos, forums, videos, pre-sale tickets, artist blogs and pay-per-view live concerts of The Dead Weather, The Raconteurs and The White Stripes. While for a tiny monetary upgrade to $20/month ‘Platinum’ members garner access to all this plus a Third Man 12” & 7” as well as an exclusive member’s tee every 3 months! Word is the first month’s goodie bag will include a 180 gram double vinyl of Icky Thump complete with new artwork and mix, and a The Dead Weather 7” featuring a cover of Forever My Queen by Pentagram & Outside by Downliners Sect. So maybe instead of just hollering Jack White for president… We should start the campaign.
