Do you feel like you have been given enough time to grieve the loss of R.E.M.? Well you may not have to grieve to much longer, with reports surfacing today that the band’s guitarist, Peter Buck, has started to work on his first solo album. A friend of the guitarist and frequent musical collaborator Scott McCaughey broke the new in an interview on the radio show Seattle Sounds, also revealing the material to be “pretty out,” whatever that means. He also mentioned Buck may try to sing on the album, that he was considering releasing it only on vinyl, and that he (McCaughey) would be working on the record with him. Way to break the ice Bucky! Now we just need Stipe to get back into the game, though bassist Michael Mills said in October that the famous singer would probably not be recording any solo music.
