Frontman for New York rock outfit The Strokes is taking a cue from fellow band mates Albert Hammond Jr., Nikolai Fraiture and Fab Moretti as Julian Casablancas sets out on his own solo mission. The Jason Lader and Mike Mogis of Bright Eyes produced project, Phrazes For The Young, was locked down at L.A., Nebraska and New York studios, and marks the vocalist’s debut solo effort slated to hit shelves in the fall of 2009. Although Casablancas has collaborated with other artists such as Santigold and Pharrell Williams for a release dubbed My Drive Thru, as well as toying with a Danger Mouse team up for the Dark Night Of The Soul release, he’s yet to dabble on his own till now. I wonder if he stomped his foot and said “I want my own solo project too”?
