In a recent interview with Australian radio station triple j, Jack White announced that The Dead Weather are to release a new album and hit the road for a Spring tour culminating in a visit to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in May. It’s been only seven months since the debut album Horehound from the band, whose other members include Alison Mosshart (of The Kills and Discount), Dean Fertita (of Queens of the Stone Age) and Jack Lawrence (of The Raconteurs), but clearly there’s no rest for the wicked with White stating in the course of the interview that the new record is “bluesier and heavier than we ever thought we could be”, and that he’ll perform the lead vocal on the forthcoming Dead Weather single, called Blue Blood Blues. Alleged Mushroom Possession Detains King Khan & BBQ Show
11.17.09St. Louis, Missouri and Lawrence, Kansas fans of The King Khan & BBQ Show might be holding a grudge against the Kentucky law enforcement officers that nabbed Arish “King” Khan and tour manager Kristin Klein for allegedly being in possession of hallucinogenic shrooms. The shows in Missouri and Kansas were cancelled, as was a date in Phoenix, Arizona. Those planning to catch shows on the West Coast will be happy to hear that things are back on track, and all remaining shows are going ahead as planned.
