For some reason Michael Cera movies always have killer soundtracks. Continuing the trend, his newest flick Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World has a soundtrack featuring unreleased tracks by Metric, Broken Social Scene (credited under pseudonym Crash and the Boys) and Beck. Beck was actually recruited by filmmakers to write all the original songs for Cera’s band in the movie, Sex Bob-Omb. Four of the faux-band’s songs, with Beck at the musical helm and movie characters providing vocals, will be included on the film’s 19-song-soundtrack, set for release August 10th. If you check out the movie trailer it seems as though Michael Cera will finally be playing a new character; he’s still an awkward kid, but this time he’s an awkward kid living some kind of real life video game defeating the seven exes of his dream girl. Funky.
