With the Electric Feel of Brooklyn born synthpop sweeping Montreal’s Metropolis, the irreverent dance friendly duo they call MGMT filled the night with ass shaking exuberance and toothy glares. Just the other day I was thinking, “I’m feeling rough, I’m feeling raw, I’m in the prime of my life. Let’s make some music, make some money, find some models for wives”… Then Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden solidified my thoughts with a flashtastic live effort born of psychedelic images splashed across a stare sparking backdrop and soul tickling colors issuing manic highs to a sold out hazy crowd. Sufjan Stevens has been out of the limelight for a while now, without a proper tour or album in too long for indie fans. Well one will hopefully soon follow the other as Stevens just announced a North American tour for the fall season. After ever-growing rumors of a new studio record on the way, this tour announcement may just be the confirmation that we’ll soon be holding that LP in our hands. A show at Metropolis in Montreal kicks things off October 12th but pre-sale tickets go on sale tomorrow, Tuesday Aug. 10, at 1p.m. so make sure that $35 is prepped in the account.
