Check out the awesomely dark visual teaser for The Dead Weather’s (that’s Jack White’s project with Alison Mosshart from The Kills) new album Sea of Cowards. Rumor has it that the record will drop May 7th on Third Man Records. As we previously reported, White went on air on Australian radio to talk about the album earlier this year, describing the sound as “bluesier and heavier than we ever thought we could be.” A first single, Die by the Drop, backed by B-side Old Mary, may or may not go on sale tomorrow, March 23rd, depending on who you believe: Amazon or the band themselves. What we do know is the following: The video for Die by the Drop will be directed by Floria Sigismondi, who directed The White Stripes‘ Blue Orchid, and the band are as we speak on tour in Australia, with US dates to follow in April. The Simpsons Mastermind Matt Groening to Supervise UK ATP
10.13.09The Simpsons creator Matt Groening has been officially revealed as one of the curators of next year’s All Tomorrow’s Parties (ATP). Between May 7th and 9th the famous animator will head the first ATP event at Butlins in Minhead. Groening was at the wheel of the Long Beach ATP in the US in 2003 featuring performers !!!, Cat Power, The Shins and Sonic Youth. Pavement have already confirmed that they will be in charge for the second ATP weekender between May 14th and 16th 2010. Tickets for Groening’s weekender go on sale October 16th, even though there are no confirmed acts.
