With high-profile support and mixed reviews, Montreal’s own NEeMA returns home from a Canadian tour for Osheaga in the City and to cast her sing-song spell on the hometown crowd tonight at La Sala Rossa.

After announcing their first album in two decades, Sex With an X, the next logical step for indie pop veterans The Vaselines was to take this show on the road. The band is set for a fall tour in support of the record, venturing all the way from Scotland to Mexico and yes, up here in Canada as well. Toronto and Montreal (which is the tour’s closing performance at La Sala Rossa on Halloween) are the only two Canadian dates, and unfortunately these two shows are some of the unlucky dates that have no opening act. I say unlucky because Dum Dum Girls and Belle and Sebastian are kicking concerts off for much of the tour, as are Superchunk, Telekinesis and Teenage Fanclub. Dates and deets down below. (more…)
