For his new track Erase Me, Kid Cudi raps over some pop punky power chords, which at first feels like an odd combination. Not quite as odd as the back-up band he pulled together for the song’s recently released video, however. Two of the most awkward actors in the business, McClovin a.k.a. Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Hot Tub Time Machine’s Clark Duke play the drummer and bassist respectively in a video that sees Cudi decked out in Jimi Hendrix attire. Maybe Kanye required nerds be present to increase his cool image? Cudi’s second album, Man on The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, should be up on shelves Nov. 9th. Another recently leaked Cudi track Maniac sampled St. Vincent’s The Strangers, so this album may offer up a few strange surprises.
