Back in October of last year, we reported that Metallica had lent their support to the search for fan Morgan Harrington, who went missing after attending their October 17th performance at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA. The band posted $50,0000 towards a $150,000 reward for anyone who could offer information leading to her safe return as the investigation into her disappearance continued, but in a desperately sad turn to the story, police are said to be “fairly certain” that human remains found on a 700 acre farm in Virginia, just ten miles from the concert venue, are those of the 20 year-old Virginia Tech student. The remains were discovered by farm owner David Dass who fell upon a human skull while driving his tractor through a field on his land. Police leading the investigation believe that there is a significant chance that the remains belong to that of the young woman, and Harrington’s parents have been asked to identify the remains.
