Julien Temple, director of Glastonbury and Joe Strummer: The Future is Unwritten, is said to be helming a film about The Kinks. With a reported working title of You Really Got Me, the flick is rumored to be dealing with the tumultuous relationship between Ray and Dave Davies, brothers and band mates. Ray Davies is involved in some capacity, so we’ll be sure to at least get his side of the story. Temple has been talking about the project saying, “At the heart of it is the extraordinary love-hate relationship between these two brothers: love/hate, sibling rivalry is at the core. I think it’s a very rich social, cultural nexus around The Kinks. Their story is the untold story of all those big bands of the 1960s.” No news to report on casting yet.

Jarvis Cocker Says Pulp Could Reunite!
10.26.09Interested in playing the 2010 Glastonbury Festival, Jarvis Cocker has announced that Pulp will be “coming back”, following a bout of inactivity since the release of their 2001 album We Love Life. Pulp has history with the event having headlined the festival’s Pyramid Stage during the 1995 and 1998 seasons. Glastonbury means an awful lot to me, I would love to play there again,” commented Cocker. “We’ve talked about it, there we go, there’ll be a band reunion.” I guess the world can never have too much Pulp.

N*E*R*D Gets Plug Pulled In Glastonbury
06.26.09If you were one of the cheering fans staring earnestly at the Pyramid Stage at the Glastonbury Festival the afternoon of Friday June 26th 2009, then you most likely witnessed N*E*R*D get their plug pulled. After beginning a mere 25 minutes later than an originally slated stage time of 3:10pm (BST), the academic hip hoppers’ front man exclaimed “They’re trying to cut our set short because of technical issues. All I know is that you’ve paid between 100 and 200 dollars… and you want to see a full N*E*R*D set… that’s what’s going to happen”. As one would imagine the festival’s controllers did not take kindly to Pharrell’s announcement and made an example of the group by cutting the stage power a few moments into Everyone Nose (All The Girls Standing In The Line For The Bathroom) which would uncontrollably be their final song.
