A drama documenting Jimi Hendrix’s “lost Weekend” in ’69, when the rocker was allegedly involved in a hoax kidnapping, will see the beginning of production in 2010. The movie, dubbed Slide, has been written, and will be directed by R.H. Greene. “While we have to be speculative because no definitive version of the event exists, this takes it out of the realm of fiction for me,” said Greene. “It’s part of Jimi’s story, and I think it offers an opportunity to show him fully but from a unique angle. That was my aim in writing it, and that’s going to be my aim in making it.” Wondering who will be portraying the guitar god? Well the role has yet to be filled but casting is reportedly underway.
