Although Weezer has cancelled their remaining tour dates due to a bus crash leaving frontman Rivers Cuomo with broken ribs and internal damage, the geek rock leader has discovered other ways to stay in touch with fans. Cuomo has recently posted the bare bones session of a new song titled Shusui on Indaba Music, where listeners can aid the lead singer in his quest by adding their own efforts and additional components to the infant track. “I wrote this tune, Shusui. Now I want to write the lyrics. Before I do that, I’d like somebody to produce a better demo of the music,” said Cuomo of the idea. And apparently the task does not come without reward as Rivers has also said that if your track is chosen, “I’ll pay you $208.” This is obviously not Cuomo’s first time at the collaboration rodeo as he’s recently paired up with The All-American Rejects and Lil Wayne for Weezer’s latest album Raditude, shared the stage with Sara Bareilles and Chamillionaire during recent live performances, and joined Taylor Swift and Pete Wentz for commercial shoots.
