Fall Out Boy’s guitarist Joe Trohman and drummer Andy Hurley are laboring with Anthrax’s Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano, along with Every Time I Die’s Keith Buckley and mutual buddy David Karon, to form the all new, The Damned Things. Sounding like “Kyuss meeting Thin Lizzy,” The Damned Things are rumored to have already completed 15 demo songs, and are planning on wrangling members into the studio in December. While Fall Out Boy are on hiatus, “indefinite vacation” as Pete Wentz calls it, Trohman and Hurley are staying busy carving out names for themselves in territories Fall Out Boy might not venture. Ian is quick to praise the guitarist and drummer, saying “People think of Fall Out Boy and they think of Pete Wentz and Patrick… These two guys, man, they’re fucking hardcore dudes. Joe writes some amazing riffs.” As much as I dislike the term super-group, it seems to be the spirit of the age at the moment.
