Producers of British soap opera Coronation Street are gearing up for the show’s 50th anniversary, coming soon in 2010. Story lines are being developed by writers that would feature a series of special guest spots, and no guest would be more welcome than Noel, an admitted Coronation Street addict. Way back in March, perhaps in an attempt to elicit an invitation from producers, Gallagher wondered why he had yet to receive the chance to appear on the show. “Why they’ve never asked me to be in it is really one of the scandals of our age.” Fans of the show are being tantalized by insinuations that other, as yet unrevealed celebs, will pop up, as well as returns by characters that have left the show over the years.
