Dead By Sunrise has been in the works since 2005, originally intended as a solo venture for Chester Bennington to step out of Linkin Park’s creative constraints, and be more “real”. Along the way Chester collaborated with his friends, Orgy band mates Ryan Shuck and Amir Derakh, with the later addition of Brandon Belsky and Elias Andra of Julien-K and Anthony “FU” Valcic to form the rocking outfit. This tried and tested tattooed team has just released their first record Out Of Ashes on which Chester offers a personal look into his life, delving deep into themes like addiction on Crawl Back In and My Suffering or the experience of getting divorced in Let Down. He also showcases his romantic side on a few tracks such as Give Me Your Name and In the Darkness. DBS pushes Chester’s vocals into new territory especially on the softer ballads. A must for Bennington fans, not just 14 year old girls…
