Happy Anniversary!: 40 Years Of Sesame Street

Today marks the celebration of Sesame Street’s 40th anniversary, 40 years plied with musical moments on a memorable iconic kids show. Countless kids (and adults) have bopped along with Ernie, singing about the simple joys of a rubber ducky, or croon what might possibly be the most recognized theme song ever. Many years have been spent watching Muppets and monsters teach through song, as the beloved children’s show has hosted more awesome musical guests than any of us could have appreciated when we were still young enough to be cramming mega blocks in our mouths. Some memorable appearances include Stevie Wonder’s Superstition, Johnny Cash’s Nasty Dan and the neo-classic 1234, by Feist, monsters, penguins, and chickens.
