The tragic passing of Jerry Fuchs happened in Brooklyn, last Saturday night. The 34-year-old drummer of a collection of indie bands (Maserati, The Juan MacLean, !!!, and the Turing Machine) was attending a benefit, The Uniform Project, and fell through an elevator shaft. Fuchs and his friend were stuck in an elevator between floors; they forced open the elevator doors and attempted to leap across the shaft to the nearest floor; Fuchs was unable to make that jump. He passed away at New York’s Bellevue Hospital. Maserati writes on their website, “We are humbled to have been able to create music with you for all these years, Jerry. You will be missed more than words can express. We love you, bro.”
