Spawning a new music service dubbed One Box, set to launch in the coming week, Google has teamed up with iLike and Lala in attempts to go head to head with digi-music giant iTunes. The search engine dynamo will be offering a service by which users can access images of artists and bands, album artwork, news links, song lyrics, vids, song previews, as well as a system for downloading music. Lala and iLike are not the only peeps in the pile, as reports indicate that Warner Music, EMI, Sony Music Entertainment and Universal Music Group have all hopped aboard Google’s new music train. Let’s all stay tuned in to the battle of the digital titans.
