One of Sub Pop’s house photographer’s Michael Lavine has decided to release a photo book dubbed Grunge, and Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore has been called on to add words to the photo album of our… well… my youth. Grunge is said to feature images of Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Mudhoney, Beat Happening, and Boss Hog. And in case you spent your formative years frequenting rock concerts, there will also be shots of kids at the shows, who knows, maybe a familiar friend’s face will show up. Moore’s words in the book focus on the band and the Seattle scene, along with his close friendship with Kurt Cobain. This marks the fourth piece of literature that Moore’s produced; the first three being No Wave, Punk House and Mix Tape: The Art of Cassette Culture. Look for Grunge to hit streets October 15th; its gonna be… well… grungy.
