Bruce Springsteen loves the planet earth, apparently. The Boss called on a bunch of friends of his to take part in a marathon rendition of campfire/elementary school classic This Land is Your Land at SXSW last night. During an intimate set with the E Street Band, Springsteen had the Arcade Fire, The Low Anthem and Tom Morello hop up on stage to help sing a few verses and close out the show. The track wasn’t the only one with a few guest appearance… or even the only Woody Guthrie song. Springsteen opened with Guthrie’s I Ain’t Got No Home in celebration of what would be the folk hero’s 100th birthday. During the set he also had Morello help perform Death To My Hometown and The Ghost of Tom Joad, and had reggae performer Jimmy Cliff and Eric Burdon of The Animals help on tracks as well. But watch them channel their inner boyscouts, with This Land is Your Land here.
