Yeah Yeah Yeahs – It’s Blitz!

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It\'s Blitz!

Reclaiming what is rightfully theirs with a ten-song answer to the dilapidated, childish, glitter soaked hipster scene, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs resurface with a mature third studio effort, It’s Blitz! Co–produced by TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek, The New York art punks have created something so dirty and sweet that the chic untidy nature of the album rings truer than a bite out of the Big Apple. Loaded with full-size sound and posturing vocals that accompany treacherous emotional guitar, It’s Blitz! commands earnest reverence. Hard stepping through body moving swells of pain & pleasure Karen O provides a voice from heaven and hell, creating tracks that surpass any existing in parallel. The synthy swoons and cerebral textures that fill this disk allow the YYYs to respect the grandeur within the music, letting them maintain humble calamity while making glossy arrangements carved into by thought provoking lyrics. Karen O’s hollers beg to be obeyed, while drummer Brian Chase and guitarist Nick Zinner deliver beats & chords that revive sounds so visceral and pure, head bobs and toe taps should come bottled with this record. Disco lives here… NYC soul lives here… Indie & punk rock live here… A bright future in music lives here.
